The International Phonemic Symbols - clear, simple, motivating and fun for both the classroom and individual self-study.

Teaching the International Phonemic Symbols in the English classroom can be daunting and time consuming. Due to this, it is often a neglected part of regular lessons. However, by teaching your students to recognise the symbols, you are not only helping them with their pronunciation and self-confidence when speaking but are also supporting their independent language learning outside the classroom.

Based on my own experience of both learning and then teaching the phonemic symbols to children and adults, I wrote and published materials for use in the Engish language classroom. Each publication is carefully developed and published for both teachers and students and are listed in detail on the
publications page of this website.
